Industry, not design
Fresh out of NCA Lahore, Ijaz Hussain spent seven years as a CAD consultant in Pakistan's textile industry — synthetic dye only, designs imported from Europe, designers as technical executors. He attended a UNESCO natural-dye workshop at NCA in 1998, but the idea had nowhere to go yet. In 2000 he left, back to the academy to recover what the industry had erased.
